DATADVANCE User Conference 2018 Was Held in Toulouse

On October 10, DATADVANCE User Conference 2018 was held in Toulouse, at the Ferme de Pinot in the Aeroscopia Museum area. Just like last yearDATADVANCE customers, partners and software developers used this perfect occasion to share experience in design optimization, data analysis, and predictive modeling, to exchange ideas on the latest trends and to discuss the industry challenges. About 40 representatives from the leading aerospace, energy, biomedical, automotive and other companies participated in the event. A non-exhaustive list of participants includes Airbus, Orano, Liebherr Aerospace, CNES, TOTAL, LEONI, Sogeti, Storengy, Veolia etc.

pSeven Presentations Section

Dmitry Frolov, Marketing Director at DATADVANCE, came up with the retrospective review of pSeven features added or improved in three product releases back in 2017-2018. He listed Design Space Exploration and Predictive Modeling enhancements, new integration capabilities and usability improvements, added as a result of the efficient and continuous dialogue with pSeven users.

Alexander Prokhorov, Head of Software Development at DATADVANCE, followed the lead and introduced the concept of new generation of pSeven, highlighted its' development roadmap and planned capabilities. The live demo gave the attendees more insight into how the product would evolve and help solve their engineering problems in the upcoming years.

Customer Success Stories

Vincent Leger from Orano, opened the user presentation section with the story of pSeven application for spent fuel casks loading management, resulting in the solution that ensures safety and protects people, property and the environment. Patrice Pierrat from TOTAL demonstrated the methodology based on surrogate models to ultimately maximize the profit of the refinery.

Antoine Porot from LEONI elaborated on how pSeven can be efficiently applied to overcome automotive harness design сhallenges in an example of the snaphooks optimization process. In the next presentation, Georges Martins from AIRBUS Operations SAS explained how the company handles uncertainties in the installation architecture of aircraft electrical power network.

Alexandra Laugerotte from IPSEN Innovation closed the customer's presentations section with an interesting biomedical application example. The motivation is to use available animal data and data of similar drugs in humans to predict the behavior of a drug of interest, and Alexandra explained how predictive models built from this data can be used to estimate pharmacodynamic properties of a certain drug.

pSeven Live Demo

The official part of the Conference ended with pSeven live demo, performed by Anton Saratov and Jean Demange, Application Engineers at DATADVANCE. Among other features, they demonstrated the benefits of a brand new Design space exploration block, which now allows to easily combine Optimization and Design of Experiments strategies and switch between techniques when solving design problems.  New FMI model block to integrate Functional Mock-up Units for Co-Simulation into workflows and other major enhancements and updates were introduced to the audience. As expected, live demo was the point where the attendees' interest got to its' peak.

The Closing of the Сonference – Aeroscopia Tour

Right after the pSeven live demo, the attendees had a guided tour to the Aeroscopia Museum. They discovered more than 30 legendary aircraft, boarded the legendary Concorde, explored the Airbus A300B and its’ transparent floor, and entered the Super Guppy's cargo hold.
