pSeven at automotive CAE Grand Challenge 2023

On April 25 and 26, 2023 the 15th automotive CAE Grand Challenge on-site in Hanau, Germany, and online will be held.

The Grand Challenge is a platform for dialog. The automotive CAE Grand Challenge stimulates the exchange between users, scientists and software developers in order to solve these challenges.

We invite you to our presentation and the booth in the exhibition area.

In every session of the conference experts from industry, research and software development will explain how critical the individual challenge is for the virtual car development process and report about their efforts to overcome the challenge.

On April 26, at 15:00 (CET) Laurent Chec, General Director of pSeven SAS, together Nicolas Belhomme, Head of Technical Structure Referent of Manitou, will be giving a presentation on "Use of ML/AI and Adaptive Design of Experiment to Assess Stability Domain of Construction Vehicles and Reduce Physical Tests".

Manitou is a worldwide heavy equipment manufacturer. Some of the most popular products include telehandler or forklifts. These machines are delivered to their customers with stability charts to guide end users and ensure safe operating conditions for any weighting conditions (payload and optional equipment). Such stability charts are built from expensive experimental campaigns.

The presentation will explain how Manitou has been able to build a digital representation of the product and automate the search of operating envelope thanks to machine learning and adaptive design of experiment. The developed method allows to leverage simulation models (nonlinear FE based) as well as historical test data to speedup stability domain exploration. Test campaigns can then be drastically reduced which reduces global development costs and cycle.
