pSeven at NAFEMS seminar Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Manufacturing

pSeven team will participate at Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Manufacturing organized by NAFEMS that will be held on September 20-21, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm CEST online.

We invite you to attend our live presentation "Hybrid Digital Twin for Monitoring and Tuning Gas Treatment Unit."

pSeven at NAFEMS World Congress 2023

This speech focuses on an innovative solution to integrate machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities into a digital twin strategy for monitoring a continuous production asset.

This solution is the result of a collaboration between CGI and pSeven SAS within CGI's Global Innovation Centre (Toulouse, France), which aims to help industrial players around the world realise the benefits of Industry 4.0 and its enabling technologies, including the Internet of Things (IoT), augmented reality and digital twins.

In the concept of Industry 4.0 and cyber-physical systems, digital twins are based on predictive models and the valorisation of operational data. They provide the key information to monitor and operate physical assets to maximise efficiency.

However, 'predictive models' can be of very different origin and quality, and there is usually no single model required to build the right digital twin. The challenge is then to build, combine and deploy all these models at scale into an appropriate hybrid Digital Twin. The proposed process allows real-time interaction with a gas production unit. The aim of monitoring such a unit is to detect anomalies, optimise production, reduce energy consumption, and control maintenance.

The predictive model replaces the simulation model for rapid recommendations, typically for control optimisation. It speeds up the generation of results when latency is critical, while maintaining sufficient accuracy.

We will show how the hybrid digital twin is assembled and how it interacts with the physical asset, from data collection and streaming with the IoT, to the feedback loop and operator support with the dashboard.

This project illustrates different scenarios ranging from simple asset monitoring to more complex asset tuning and optimisation under changing operating conditions.

About the speakers:

Bruno Trebucq, Digital TWIN & R&D Director Consulting Expert, CGI, Paris, France.

After 10 years in industry, Bruno has been working as a consultant in R&D and industrialization for 23 years. He has strong experience within major industrial sectors, allows him to have a global vision of the stakes and problems of these sectors, and to know the levers for R&D transformation and digitalization.

He assists Engineering Departments, Industrial Departments and Information Systems Departments in the management of business and Digital Twin programs impacting practices, organizations and the IS.

Laurent Chec, General Director, pSeven SAS, Toulouse, France

Laurent has over 25 years of experience in CAE. He graduated from the University of Evry-Val-d'Essonne in 1995 with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for major European aerospace companies as a simulation expert before moving into business development. Over the last 10 years, Laurent has held various management positions. In 2016, he joined the pSeven SAS in France as CEO. pSeven SAS is a former spin-off of the Airbus research group and now an independent international software company. The company specialises in a collaborative cloud platform for simulation & data analytics workflow automation.
